Bikers Quest

Bikers Quest-

I don't ride for the speed
I don't ride for the thrills
I ride for the freedom

Quest continues

"In search of freedom through the darkness I rode
In search of freedom I rode into the wild

Into the hills I traversed
making the road my bride

Trespassing in to the natures alley
I awakened the beast inside

At dawn
the clouds roared aloud
instructing the legions to confront the beasts on the ground

The sun shined with all its wrath
declaring that we were on a warpath

The mountains took its turn and shook with all its might
defending the grounds beneath my ride

The water flowed with all its force
digressing the bikers on a collusion course

The mist spread its blanket all around
blindfolding the riders abound

When the elements failed to deter our spirit
they knew it was time to unite

Vexed by the natures might
I decided that I needed to put up one last fight

With courage I road all day all night
With courage I road against the tide

I rode and rode till there was no road to ride upon
I rode and rode till I was on the highest motorable road

There I spread my wings and looked to the heavens above
There I spread my wings and shouted to the gods above

Oh lord! This is freedom...."

The 90's music

That 90’s Music

Music is the life of the soul. So many forms but the same universal language. One of the greatest form has been the emergence of alternative rock music. Bands like Beck, Radiohead, Velvet Underground, The Strokes, Verve, Semisonic and many more have epitomized the alternative rock music. 90’s was the golden period for alternative rock. There were many people making some of the best music ever. There were some of the biggest music events held in this decade. It was the time of underground music movement. There were tons of bands playing there music in non commercial way and there were millions of fans following these bands and promoting this form of music.

The early days of alternate music can be traced down to 1980’s, the mainstream music in the 80’s was thrash and heavy metal, the bands which did not play the similar music or any other mainstream genre of music went on to define a new genre of alternative music. Bands dubbed "alternative" had no unified style, but were all seen as distinct from mainstream music. Alternative to the mainstream the new genre was pioneered by R.E.M., Hüsker Dü, Jane's Addiction, Sonic Youth and the Pixies, and in the UK The Cure, New Order the Jesus and Mary Chain and The Smiths.

Artists largely were confined to independent record labels, building an extensive underground music scene based around college radio, fanzines, touring, and word-of-mouth.

Success- The initial movement did not gain much of ground except being confined to regional or national level. By the early 90’s, grunge music had started to find its foothold among the mainstream music. With heavy and thrash metal becoming less popular bands such as Green River, Soundgarden, the Melvins and Skin Yard pioneered the genre of grunge, with Mudhoney becoming the most successful of them all by the end of 80’s.

Although Soundgarden was the first sign a deal and to produce an album with a record label, It is Nirvana which took the genre of “Grunge” to the next level. The song Smells like teen spirit became the anthem of the decade and Nirvana’s album “Nevermindwas selling 400,000 copies a week by the end of 1991. With the huge success of the big 4 Soundgarden – Badmotorfinger, Alice in chains-Dirt , Pearl Jam – Ten, Nirvana-Nevermind there were many alternative bands which gained commercial success.

However by the end of the decade the “Grunge” lost its mainstream flavour. With Curt Kobain committing suicide in 1994, Soundgarden splitting by 1997, Alice in Chains struggling with their drugs related issues and Pearl Jam problem of touring for concerts the grunge started to lose its sheen.

Below is a list of few masterpieces to remember an era of grunge and alternative music, a list to celebrate a movement of pure music without the touch of commercialization, a time when bands believed in making music rather than promoting haircuts and clothes, a time when the music was pure ecstasy and melody.

SHIV SANIKS

Are Shiv saniks the moral policemen or the politicized goons? A bare back poster of the woman signifies sensuality or obscenity?

Why have a censor board and I & B ministry in this country? when we have the shiv saniks to screen the broadcast. The likes of moral saniks could strike fear in the heart of directors across the country and ensure that the modern day woman covered up. Wow! No more Sharmila tagaore no more censor board, only the moral heroes, and the messiah for this society guarding the modern decay. ' imagine what would saniks do if they ever visited khajurao, they would buy meters of cloth and cover the entire range of scantily clad statues, only if we had a force such as this in 500 C.E the world would have never had a World heritage site.

Imagine a society with moral saniks in all walks of life, imagine a society without love, imagine a society where no one could grow in thoughts or otherwise, where each one of us lived in limits, where we had to struggle everyday to uphold the moral standards of shiv saniks, imagine a society chained sexually, imagine!

Well! If we have imagined all this than the next thing to do is burn our constitution and adopt dictatorship. This is what we have in the name of democracy. This is how we have become, submissive to MNS tyrants. Those who feel that MNS is just in its action are the same who are probably a shade better than MNS.

Kill Kill!

Have you ever felt like killing someone? enraged! pulling out a 9mm and putting someone to sleep. I have, often than seldom, everytime while driving on the highway I wish I could pull out an ak 47 and end the likes of those who feel they own the road. Ah! But I can't, I rationalize things, understand the meaning of being educated and the value of life. This emotion of rage is reasoned with and over ruled. That's what most of us sane headed do.

Then there are those like the famous 'Manu Sharma' who have had the best of the worlds, education, and reasoning but still behaved insane. They are the ones who are living challenges to the field of criminal psychology. But I am sure 'Manu Sharma' wouldn't have been born a criminal. I am sure there is more to the act of violence. I am sure it’s got a lot to do with upbringing, the environment that he has grown up in. The shameful cover up, the hostile witnesses, the paroles granted, this all reflect on the character of the family. I remember as far as my folks were concerned, they would have personally handed me over to the law if I had committed such an act of violence. I and most of us have grown up in families where since our early days we have been taught to accept responsibilities for our actions. So would I kill anyone? No. Would I think about the same? Yes but overrule on the basis of rationalization. If I did' I would probably confess my actions and handover myself to the law. I believe if I ever became 'Manu Sharma' it would probably be for bringing justice then proving superiority and succumbing to my ego.

Mera Bharat Mahan

Maharati Manoos, UP ke Bhaiya, Rajaatan ke Rajput, divide India.

In state assembly Raj Thakre inspired anti national party MNS resolved to violence. Raising hand on a fellow legislative member during his oath taking ceremony, pretext for violence ' anti Maharati stance of SP mla'. Now what led the MNS rakshaks to consider that the stance was indeed anti Maharati? Well the answer is the MLA'S nationalistic approach of taking the oath in his mother tounge, our national language 'hindi'

Considering the fact that this country was democratic and secularist till few days back, this act of preservation of marathi sentiments by a public servant should have been anti constitutional. Upholding the law and not adhering to the constitution should have invited the ire of the entire political fraternity and at least a 6 months term in the jail. Strange! That a politician can insult the country, yet be righteous in protecting the sentiments of a handful.

Mere bharat mahan aur Mein aur aap bhi for allowing such blatant act of gundagardi in this country.

Jagao re India.........

RFEUSE AND RESIST

Yesterday I was reading this article in economic times; it was about “rang de basanti” and the impact of the flick on our generation. The article said a lot in few words.

I gave it thought and realized that our politicians really think that this country is there “baap ki jagir”. Quotas in central government aided institutes are making lot of waves in the country. Delhi is already on a rampage these days with students of various medical institutes already on the street protesting against the proposal. Today as I went through the newspaper I read that our honorable finance Minister P. Chidambaram has also given his assent to the proposal. I wonder why we elect such ass*****. Anyhow few days back I even read about Rahul Gandhi in favor of the proposal. As if he had to drop a year to get into one of the premiere institute. The brat was born with a golden spoon and a dynasty to rule. He has done his education from Harvard. So that’s goes to show what he knows about burning oil day and night to make it to one of these institutes.

Its time we all resists and refuse to accept what the brainless politicians intend to do with our country. We all need to join hands and protest against this so called proposal. If we don’t wake up now, it will be to late for us as the next step in the pipeline is to introduce quotas in private sector.

Placement for the unfortunate few

I have managed to get placed finally, ill b working with Duncan tea. The best part about the whole thing is I will be working in New Delhi and my office will be in GK-II M block market. Well I don’t know about how much work will they be able to make me do but I am sure its going to be a boom for the coffee industry. Incase you didn’t get the humor, I happen to be a coffeeholic. Well I know there is no word as “coffeeholic” in dictionary but I invented that for myself. I am not sure about inventing it either.

My job starts from 1st June onwards. I don’t know what my project is going to be but I am sure it will be better than my expectation.

I have no clue of what working is all about although I have worked with an event management company for quite a few numbers of years but still I could never figure out what working was all about.

Until the next time………….
